Someone once said ‘I would rather be asked why I have no website than why I have one.’ or something like that. He was actually talking about statues, but the principle is the same. I don’t know who said that but I agree with them.
On the other hand, I find that the same questions keep coming up and being able to say ‘it’s on my website’ makes life easier for everyone (unless they’re in a field and without an internet connection at the time of course). If it’s not on my website, I’ll say ‘you must have misunderstood your question’. Dogbert said that.
Since this is presumably why you’re here, let me take this opportunity to say ‘Welcome, person I evidently didn’t want to speak to’.
Information is on this site because it falls into one or more of the following categories:
I’m asked a question often enough that it must be a problem for a lot of people.
It’s complicated enough that I can’t explain it clearly or I can’t remember it well enough.
It involves links or files that I don’t carry round with me but I can put here.
- I think it will be interesting for people.
This is the second version of my blog, having failed to seperate presentation and content on my website. Besides, WordPress is using AJAX which is very Web 2.0 and that’s where we’re all heading, right?
This site won’t include a list of my favourite colours or music or what I did on the weekend (nobody wants to know that). It will include my opinions, experience and advice on various technology (this, apparently, some people do want to know). If there’s something you think should be on the site let me know.
The information on this site is, presumably, my own opinion. More or less anyway, if you disagree with me, that’s fine. If you can demonstrate why you’re right, I’ll disagree with me too.
So, this site is written by a techy, for the techy in all of us. Click a link at the top.
